Syrian men’s national football team draws with its Malaysian counterpart in friendly match

Beijing, (ST) – The Syrian men’s football team on Wednesday tied with its Malaysian counterpart 2-2 in a friendly match held in China during a training camp conducted by our team, in preparation for the Asian Championship in Qatar early next year.

The goals for the national team were scored by Mardik Mardikian and Yassin Samia.

The Syrian team’s lineup in the match included Ahmed Madaniyah, Moayed Al-Ajan, Thaer Kroma, Amr Midani, Amr Janiyat, Muhammad Al-Hallaq, Muhammad Al-Anz, Kamel Hamisha, Mahmoud Al-Mawas, Yassin Samia, and Mardik Mardikian.

The Syrian team, led by its Argentine coach, Hector Cuper, is scheduled to play a second friendly match with the Chinese national team on the twelfth of this month.

The Syrian men’s national football team is participating in the Asian Championship in Group Two. It will begin its matches within this group on the 13th of next January with Uzbekistan, then face Australia on the 19th of the same month and India on the 25th.
