Syrian-Mauritanian parliamentary discussions in the People’s Assembly

The Syrian-Mauritanian Brotherhood Committee in the People’s Assembly discussed with a Mauritanian parliamentary delegation headed by MP Mustafa Dah Sohaib ways to develop Syrian-Mauritanian parliamentary relations and prospects for enhancing them in the interest of the two brotherly countries.

During the meeting, the head and members of the delegation praised the steadfastness of Syria’s people, army and leadership during the terrorist war it has been exposed to for more than ten years, and its continued defense of Arab causes, foremost of which is the Palestinian cause, despite the wounds and siege imposed on it, indicating that the Mauritanian people believe that Syria will win economically as it won militarily.

Deputy Dah Sohaib expressed his confidence that Syria will return stronger than it used to, to play its pivotal role in the region.

The head and members of the Brotherhood’s Committee stressed the importance of unifying the Syrian-Mauritanian positions in international forums towards various Arab issues, noting the honorable Mauritanian support for Syria throughout the years of war and the crisis it is facing.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Committee, Muhammad Bakhit, stressed the depth of the historical relations between Syria and Mauritania, which are constantly and distinctly consolidated in all political, cultural and social fields, indicating the importance of joint work on exchanging experiences and parliamentary delegations and strengthening visits between the two brotherly countries.

The head of the Mauritanian delegation affirmed that his country desires to strengthen relations with Syria through visits and the exchange of parliamentary and economic delegations to contribute to the reconstruction phase in Syria, calling for expanding the horizons of joint cooperation, especially economically, scientifically and culturally.
