Syrian Maestro Missak Baghboudarian appionted as the honorary conductor of the K – Orchestra in South Korea

The conductor of the Syrian National Symphony Orchestra, Maestro Missak Baghboudarian, has been appointed Honorary Conductor of the  K- Classic  Orchestra of   the Republic of South Korea which is run by the K-Classic Organizing Committee for the future and vision of world music that  aims to create communication between orchestra conductors  in the world.

Maestro Baghboudarian  said in a statement to SANA that  orchestra conductors who have been granted the  honorary conductors will be invited to South Korea in 2023 after the end of the global “Covid- 19” epidemic crisis, to be briefed on  the reality of music in South Korea,  conduct  concerts, hold workshops and exchange programs between Orchestra  conductors as well as participation in international competition committees. 

It is noteworthy that Maestro Baghboudarian, was born in Damascus in 1973, studied music at the Arab and Higher Institutes of Music, from which he graduated in 1995 with a  piano specialization  and orchestra  conducting .  

 He led the symphony  orchestra  under the supervision of the late musician Sulhi Al-Wadi,  then he completed the study of conducting the orchestra in Italy, in addition to several specialized courses.   

Maestro Baghboudarian  also worked as a principal conductor for orchestras in Italy, Romania, Bulgaria, America, Switzerland, the Dominican Republic, Algeria and Turkey. 

The Maestro  has led the Syrian National Symphony Orchestra in dozens of concerts since 2003  in Syria and abroad including  the  opening ceremony of “Damascus Opera House” ,  the opening and concluding  ceremonies of “Damascus  the Capital of Arab Culture” festival , the concluding  of  “Tlemcen   capital of Islamic culture” festival   and  “Oran Arab Film Festival 2012”  .   

Maestro Baghboudarian  won many medals  from Italy, Armenia  and the State  Encouragement Award by  the Ministry of Culture.
