Syrian-Lebanese talks to develop cooperation between them

On November 3rd, Lebanese Defense Minister Maurice Selim and Syrian Ambassador to Lebanon Ali Abdel Karim discussed ways to enhance and develop cooperation and integration between the two brotherly countries at various levels.

The Lebanese minister stressed the depth and interdependence of relations between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples, considering that cooperation between Syria and Lebanon in all fields is an essential factor in achieving benefit for both countries.

The Lebanese minister welcomed the progress made in the file of importing gas and electricity through Syria and the desired positive repercussions in living and economically, and at the same time appreciating the response shown by Syria to achieve practical results that will be reflected on the one people in the two brotherly countries.

For his part, Ambassador Abdel Karim expressed his hope for the success of the government and the Lebanese army in achieving the tasks entrusted to them.

Ambassador Abdel Karim said that Syria is keen to provide all possible assistance to Lebanon and hopes that it will be able to find ways out that guarantee stability and prosperity for its people.

Ambassador Abdul Karim stressed the importance of cooperation between the two countries on the security file.

Ambassador Abdel Karim said: “Cooperation between the two countries in the field of combating terrorism was essential and decisive, and it is a necessity imposed by the interest and brotherly relations.”
