Syrian Karate team wins gold, silver and bronze medals on 1st day of West Asia Karate Championship

On the first day of the West Asia Karate Championship, currently held in the United Arab Emirates, the Syrian karate team won four medals; two gold, a silver and a bronze.

Maria Al-Halawi in the U-42 kg and U-14 year category, and Layal Salman, in the over-48 kg and U-14-year category, won the gold medals for Syria.

The silver medal went to Abdul Kareem Al-Halawi in the U-63 kg and U-16 year category, while the bronze one went to Sameer Al-Qabbani in the U-68 kg and U-18 category.

Teams from Arab countries, including Bahrain, Lebanon, Oman, Palestine, Kuwait, Iraq, Jordan, Yemen, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Syria, are taking part in this championship.
