Syrian-Italian Students Seminar on Perpetrated Terrorism

FLORENCE, (ST) _ The National Union of Syrian Students NUSS branch in Italy, with the participation of the European front to defend Syria, held a seminar in Florence, Italy between Syrian and Italian students about the ongoing events in Syria and the systematic terror waged against the Syrian state and people.

The event was held on the sidelines of the exhibition entitled “Syrian Treasures as human heritage” which was opened by the end of March, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism.

In a speech, President of the NUSS Italy branch Wasim Murshid gave an overview about the Syrian culture and civilization, indicating that terrorism, which affected the monuments and cultural treasures in Syria, is but criminal acts supported by some Arab, regional and western countries, aimed at Syria’s humanitarian and historical existence, and the importance of pressuring these countries to stop their terrorism- supporting policy.

For their part, the Italian students noted the deep Syrian Italian relationship that cannot be forgotten nor ignored because of certain policies, asserting the importance of the strategic location Syria enjoys in the Middle East and Italy’s strategic position in Europe, a fact which has had a significant role in the cultural, civilizational and commercial exchanges between the two countries.

Worthy mentioning that the Syrian community league in Italy held in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism a photograph exhibition entitled “Syrian Treasures as human heritage” at the Palais des Expositions in the historic city of Florence, which continues until April 11th.

This exhibition is part of the events of the Syrian Tourism Day, which was launched in June 13th, 2014 in Toronto, Canada, within the Ministry’s plan to hold similar exhibitions in many world countries, including the USA, Spain, France and the Netherlands in order to convey the real Syrian voice to the West, so as to stop exporting terrorism that has only brought destruction to man and civilization.
