Cairo (ST): The Deputy Speaker of the People’s Assembly, Muhammad Akram Al-Ajlani, discussed with the Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Muhammad Al-Halbousi, ways to enhance parliamentary and economic cooperation between the two countries.
This came on the sidelines of the 32nd Conference of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union in Cairo, where the two sides stressed the importance of upgrading parliamentary and economic relations and working to overcome all obstacles facing them.
Al-Ajlani described the meeting as positive, stressing Syria’s readiness to remove all obstacles, if any.
For his part, Al-Halbousi pointed out the importance of opening the border crossings between the two countries and removing obstacles, allowing and facilitating land trips and the passage of goods.
