Syrian-Iraqi talks to develop tourism cooperation

On July 31st, the Minister of Tourism, Eng. Muhammad Rami Martini, met with the Iraqi Minister of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities, Dr. Hassan Nazim, and his accompanying delegation.

The two sides discussed ways to develop tourism cooperation between the two countriesand to improve the quality of services provided to tourists in both countries.

In a statement to the media after the meeting, Minister Martini stressed the importance of working to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the tourism sector, especially that both countries have historical and cultural landmarks and human thought, which makes them a pioneer in the field of civilization.

Minister Martini stressed that work is underway to revitalize joint tourism, exchange experiences, training and restore restoration. archaeological monuments and ancient markets that were vandalized by terrorists during the war years.

For his part, Minister Nazim drew attention to the depth of the cultural relations between the Iraqi and Syrian peoples and the common challenges they faced.

Minister Nazim said that his country is working diligently to involve neighboring countries in economic and tourism partnerships that bring economic benefit to all countries in the region.

The meeting was attended by the Assistant Minister of Tourism, Eng. Nidal Mashfaj, and the Assistant Minister of Transport for Air Transport Affairs, Firas Muhammad.
