Syrian-Iraqi talks to develop parliamentary cooperation

Baghdad (ST): Iraqi Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi and Syrian Ambassador to Baghdad Sattam Jadaan al-Dandah discussed prospects for developing bilateral relations, especially in the parliamentary field.

The Iraqi Parliament indicated in a statement today that “the meeting also discussed developments in the region and a number of issues of common interest.”

For his part, Al-Dandah said in a statement that the meeting focused on the importance of strengthening the historical brotherly relations linking Syria and Iraq, and the need to exchange visits, activate the role of parliamentary committees, encourage the establishment of investment projects, and enhance security cooperation on the common borders to serve the security and stability of the two countries.
