On October 15, Iraq’s Defense Minister Najah al-Shammari discussed with the representatives of Syria and Russia at the Joint Intelligence Coordination Center the developments of the security situation in Syria and Iraq over the Turkish regime’s aggression on Syrian territory.
“The talks between al-Shammari and the Syrian and Russian sides dealt with the latest developments in the security situation and the possibility of the infiltration of the Daesh’s terrorists from Syria to Iraqi territory,” Maj. Gen. Tahseen al-Khafaji, a spokesman for the Iraqi Joint Operations Command, said to the Syrian News Agency( SANA) correspondent in Baghdad.
“Iraq strengthens its forces on the Syrian-Iraqi border with combat units, thermal cameras and modern monitoring equipment to prevent terrorists from infiltrating into Iraqi depth,” Maj. Gen. Tahseen al-Khafaji added.
Many countries that reject the Turkish offensive on Syriawarned against the negative repercussions of this offensive aggression on the anti-terrorism efforts in Syria.
