Syrian-Iranian talks to strengthen and develop commercial and industrial relations

Secretary of the Committee for the Development of Iranian-Syrian Trade Relations, Hassan Danaei Fer, discussed with the Syrian economic delegation visiting Tehran prospects for developing commercial and industrial relations between the two countries.

In Tehran, Danaei met with the Syrian economic delegation, which includes Assistant Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, Eng. Jamal Al-Din Shuaib, Assistant Minister of Industry, Dr. Jamal Al-Omar, and the directors of the Syrian Foundation for Trade and Textile Industries. Danaei stressed that his country is seeking to find the necessary infrastructure to strengthen and develop these relations in many fields. He underlined the  need to set a timetable for implementing what is agreed upon by making use of the two sides’  available capabilities.

 

The Iranian official highlighted the importance of the visit of the Syrian delegation to Iran in serving interests of the sectors of commerce and industry, commodities, raw materials, production lines and technology that Syria needs. Danaei highlighted the importance of establishing a joint commercial company between the two sides, opening a store for Iran in Syria and a Syrian store in Iran, in addition to setting up trade fairs in Syria and Iran to display the products of the two countries. The Iranian official shed light on the contracts signed between the two sides, expressing his country’s support for every step that enhances joint commercial and industrial cooperation.

The Syrian Ambassador to Tehran, Dr. Shafiq Dayoub said: “The visit of the Syrian delegation will promote future cooperation between the two countries and provide an opportunity for more cooperation that serve the interests of the two countries and the two brotherly peoples.”

Ambassador Dayoub stressed the importance of working to establish partnerships between the two sides in the commercial and industrial fields and production lines to reach real and tangible results in various sectors of joint cooperation, especially through the implementation of what has been agreed upon and what will be agreed upon later.

For his part, the Assistant Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection Eng. Jamal Al-Din Shuaib said in a statement to SANA correspondent in Tehran that “the possibility of establishing a Syrian store in Tehran and an Iranian store in Damascus were discussed and that several memos of understandingwere also reached”. He stressed the importance of exchanging the Syrian goods with Iranian ones, noting that “the coming days will be better in light of the two sides’ serious will”.

Shuaib added that “from the industrial point of view, the transfer of existing technology at AITCA to the institutions, factories and companies of the Ministry of Industry and the development of production lines in Syria has been continued.

For his part, the Deputy Minister of Industry highlighted the need to be briefed on the technology and expertise in the field of industry to revitalize the factories and production lines destroyed due to the terrorist war on Syria. He referred to the importance of working to re-operate the stalled factories to push the movement of production in Syria forward, pointing to the possibility of Iranian companies benefiting from the facilities provided by the new investment law in Syria.
