Syrian-Iranian talks to enhance cooperation in the field of higher education and scientific research

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Bassam Ibrahim, discussed with the head of the Association of Culture and Islamic Relations in Iran, Muhammad Mahdi Imanipour, and the accompanying delegation today, the relations of joint cooperation in the field of higher education and scientific research.

During the meeting, Dr. Ibrahim stressed the depth of the historical relations between Syria and Iran, which have achieved important successes that are increasing day by day, pointing to the importance of Iranian scholarships offered to Syrian students, the exchange of students and professors between the two countries, participation in scientific conferences, and cooperation to establish research centers between Syrian universities and Iranian counterparts.

Minister Ibrahim pointed out that there are scientific research cooperation agreements between Syrian and Iranian universities, which achieve the common interest between the two countries to establish more cooperation and benefit from Iranian scientific and technological expertise.

In turn, Muhammad Mahdi Imanipour thanked the Syrian government for its permanent cooperation with the Iranian side at all levels, stressing the need to focus on developing the Persian language departments in Syrian universities, providing them with specialized professors, in addition to exchanging students, professors and joint scientific research, noting that the next stage will witness more of the development of relations between the two countries.
