Syrian-Iranian talks on cooperation in the field of environmental protection

Assistant Minister of Local Administration and Environment Moataz Dohji discussed with the Assistant to the Iranian President and Head of the Environment Organization in Iran, Dr. Ali Saljaqa, bilateral cooperation in the field of the environment.

On the sidelines of the Syrian delegation’s participation in the International Conference on Sand and Dust Storms in Tehran, the two sides discussed enhancing aspects of cooperation between the Syrian and Iranian in the field of environmental protection, especially in the field of combating sand and dust storms. 

The Assistant Minister of Local Administration and Environment expressed his deep thanks to Iran for hosting this conference and for the warm reception of the Syrian delegation

He expressed his wishes for the success of the conference and the achievement of its goals. 

For his part, Saljaqa stressed the depth of relations between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples, and the Iranian side’s keenness to strengthen them in all fields, especially in the field of the environment. 

The meeting was attended by Dr. Muhammad Tawfiq Abu Galoun, Minister Plenipotentiary at the Syrian Embassy in Tehran, and Engineer Imad Al-Marai, National Coordinator of the International Convention to Combat Desertification in Syria.
