Syrian-Iranian memorandum of understanding on providing basic materials to Syrian citizens

Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection and the Syrian-Iranian People’s Friendship Association signed a memorandum of understanding on activating special barter agreements between the two sides, and providing all the basic materials that Syria needs.

According to the memorandum, the two sides are working to create a joint Syrian-Iranian company between the Syrian Trade Establishment and the Iranian side, aiming to develop sales outlets, manufacturing plants, sorting and packaging lines, and refrigeration units in the Syrian Trade.

This took place during a meeting in which the Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, Dr. Amr Salem, discussed with the head of the Syrian-Iranian People’s Friendship Association, Ayatollah Hassan Akhtari, and his accompanying delegation, ways to strengthen bilateral relations in various economic and trade fields and develop them in a way that achieves the common interest of the two friendly peoples.

Minister Salem stressed the need to strengthen bilateral relations at different levels to rise to the relations between the leaderships of the two countries, noting the depth of the Syrian-Iranian relations and the importance of opening broad horizons to serve the interests of the two friendly peoples who are subjected to the worst types of unjust siege imposed on them.

For his part, Akhtari stressed the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation in various fields in general and securing basic materials for Syrian citizens, especially food.
