Syrian-Iranian Joint Protocol for Boosting Media Cooperation

DAMASCUS,(ST)_The Ministry of Information and  Iran’s radio and televisions Union yesterday signed a cooperation protocol with the aim to carry out joint media cooperation activities.

The protocol aims to enhance media cooperation relations to confront enemy’s plots in the near future, consolidate common values and set the foundations for a resisting media, and maintaining  coordination with international media institutions that have a similar system of values and political orientations.

The protocol states to strengthen media relations in all fields, exchange of experiences, training in the coverage of the major media events in the sectors of media services and production,engineering services, exchanging news,archive and satellites and widening the network of media cooperation.

The Minister indicated that the protocol is the result of a long cooperation between the Syrian and Iranian media organizations, noting its importance in benefiting from the Iranian experience.

For his part, the secretary of the Iranian media union Ali Krimean said that the protocol will mark the beginning for an international cooperation, particularly after the successful experience achieved by the close cooperation between the Union and the Syrian media, expressing the Union readiness to provide all forms of support to the Syrian side.

Krimean pointed that the Syrian media has achieved great victories during the past period and succeeded in uncovering the terrorist organizations, especially “ Daesh “ terrorist organization.

The Iranian TV and radio union includes more 200 media organizations, comprising TV and radio stations, news agencies and newspapers, web sites,major production companies and media service institutions.
