Syrian, Iranian Industrial Cooperation

 Tehran,( ST) – The Iranian Minister of Industry, Eng. Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh, discussed today with Syrian Ambassador in Tehran Dr. Adnan Mahmoud ways to carry out the memorandum of understanding between the two countries regarding the establishment of joint industrial projects in the sectors of cement, tractors and the assembly of buses, trucks, cable production lines, medicines and dairy.

 During the meeting, they also discussed the contribution to the rehabilitation of the production sector, provision of raw materials, the requirements of the production process of the industrial companies and including the lists of goods excluded in the free trade agreement and the establishment of joint exhibitions.

  Mr. Nemtazadeh stressed the importance of joint efforts between the two governments to rehabilitate industrial facilities destroyed by the terrorist war against Syria and to establish vital industrial projects that contribute to the needs of the Syrian people in various productive sectors.

 He pointed out that the positive developments on the Syrian arena and the achievements made by the Syrian government open the way for the rehabilitation of the industrial and productive sector and the establishment of new factories with the participation of the public and private sectors in both countries, stressing the readiness of the Iranian government to put its industrial energies at the service of the Syrian government and people available in both countries to serve their common interests.

 For his part, the Syrian Ambassador said that the rehabilitation of the industrial and productive sector is a priority of the Syrian government to confront the repercussions of the economic and terrorist war on the Syrian people and activate the Syrian industry.

 He stressed the need to push the course of industrial and economic cooperation to the level of strategic relations between Syria and Iran.
