DAMASCUS, (ST) – The Syrian and Iranian business delegation recently discussed trade, economic and technical relations between the two countries regarding the agricultural, industrial, health, oil and electric power plants, in addition to the administration of silos and setting up projects for housing and services, and electric power stations.
The Syrian side chaired by the Secretary General of the Council of Ministers Taiseer al -Zoubi and the Iranian side by Rustum Qassimi reviewded a number of economic and service projects and the possibility of the participation of Iranian companies and businessmen.
Mr. al Zou’bi pointed out the importance of these meetings and talks and adoption of many decisions that enhance the steadfastness of the Syrian people, referring to the importance of the participation of the Iranian companies in the Syrian market and to find common industries fueling the Syrian economy and contribute to the achievement of sustainable development.
For his part, Mr. Qassimi underlined the importance of economic decisions that would result from the current talks, which focused on the oil, gas and mineral wealth, industry, transport and real estate development.
In a statement to local press, Secretary General of the Council of Ministers underlined the importance of these meetings focused on cooperation in the area of joint investment projects to take advantage of the available investment opportunities in the Syrian market, which achieves an advantage of the Syrian economy both in terms of the availability of raw materials or infrastructure built for these projects by the state and the benefit from the Iranian expertise and technological development, whereas the projects to be set up aimed at promoting economic development in Syria and to achieve comprehensive and sustainable development of the national economy.
Official talks between the two sides also started to explore new horizons for joint action and the mechanism of the development of economic and trade relations, especially in terms of providing food stuff, oil derivatives and the establishment of joint projects to enhance the economy of both countries.
The session of talks was attended by Syria’s Ambassador in Iran, the Iranian Ambassador in Damascus Mohammad Reza Sheibani and the Iranian ministerial commercial and economic delegation.
