DAMASCUS, (ST) – Syrian internal opposition parties reject and denounce strongly the US president Donald Trump’s declaration to annex Syrian Golan to ‘Israel’.
On March 25, US President Donald Trump signed a declaration recognizing Israel’s sovereignty over the occupied Syrian Golan in a blatant violation of international law and UN Charter.
“Our party issued a statement expressing absolute rejection and condemnation of the US president Donald Trump’s declaration to annex Syrian Golan to ‘Israel’,” Inas al-Hamal, Secretary General of the Syrian Development party said to the Syria Times e-newspaper.
The Trump’s decision is against the UNSC Resolution 497, in 1981, which says that Israel’s decision to establish its laws, jurisdiction and sovereignty over the above-mentioned territory of Syria is null and void. The Trump’s decision and Tweet cannot change the international legitimacy and track, even the European Union refused this decision, Mr. Al-Hamal added.
For his part, Maher Morhej, the Secretary General of the Syrian National Youth Party said that our Party, since 2012 when the party was licensed, we raised the logo of Freedom which starts from Golan to Iskenderun . We called to liberate the occupied Golan and occupied Iskenderun.
“ I am calling the Syrian people to keep the military option and establish popular resistance to liberate the occupied Golan from Israeli occupation. The new popular resistance would not be link with the Syrian government. We received calls from youth from Lebanon, Iraq, Algeria and other Arab countries to join the popular resistance to liberate the occupied Syrian Golan”, Mr. Morhej was quoting as saying to the Syria Times.
“The Party presented 162 martyrs to liberate Syrian areas from the terrorist groups and we are ready to present more and more martyrs to liberate the occupied Golan,” he said.
He added that all UN resolutions and international laws give Syrians the right to restore the occupied territories by all means including the military option.
“Trump is a foolish President and his declaration is a blatant aggression against Syria’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, Mr. Morheg said to the Syria Times e-newspaper.
