Syrian-Indonesian talks for cooperation in the field of energy

Jakarta (ST): The Chargé d’Affairs of the Syrian Embassy in Jakarta, Minister Plenipotentiary Abdel Moneim Annan, discussed with the Director of the Indonesian Jaya Langit Engineering Company, which is specialized in energy affairs, Mottakian Marzouki, ways of cooperation between the two countries in the field of energy.

During the meeting, which took place at the headquarters of the Syrian embassy in Jakarta, Annan said that the idea of consolidating cooperation with formal agreements between the two sides was previously proposed and a specific program for regular meetings was put forward that would contribute to strengthening cooperation, pointing out that Syria is keen to strengthen its relations and status in various fields with other countries, including Indonesia.

Annan pointed out that after the terrorist war on Syria, many oil and gas fields came under the control of the American occupation and terrorist organizations, while other fields suffered great damage that led to their exit from service, in addition to the unilateral coercive measures imposed on Syria, which affected the energy sector in particular.

In turn, the director and a number of members of Langit Company explained that the aim of the meeting was to discuss prospects for cooperation between the two sides, especially in the field of supplying and maintaining oil and gas equipment and spare parts, referring to the possibility of providing services to Syria in the field of “spare parts through technology” re-manufacturing engineering.
