CARACAS, (ST)_ Members of the Syrian community in the Arab Venezuelan Social Club have participated in the folk heritage exhibition hosted by the cultural section at Zulia University
in Mrakipo province, with exhibits and artifacts aiming to acquaint with Syria’s heritage and civilization.
“Syria is the cradle of civilization, and the world will continue
to learn from its science and culture, thanks to the great interest in other peoples to know about this civilization and its long history,” said Zaid Khader president of the club in a statement to SANA, ” referring to the remarkable turnout the Syrian pavilion at the exhibition has been witnessing.
For his part, vice president of the club, Dr. Nabil Al-Safadi talked to the media about the sufferings of Syria and its people from terrorist acts carried out by armed organizations that are supported by the West and regional countries, stressing that due to Syria’s ancient history it will remain steadfast, despite all the conspiracies and abuses practiced against it.
Eastern lute musical pieces were played and publications and pictures provided by the Syrian Embassy were distributed on the attendees, speaking of Syria as a cradle of history and civilization.
Noteworthy that the club which follows the Union of Arab institutions, Fe-Arab, with Caracas as its headquarters, includes other 45 clubs distributed on Venezuelan cities and provinces. It is run by the efforts of the Syrian community members and has many cultural and social activities.
