GENEVA, (ST)- The delegation of the Syrian Arab Republic to Geneva talks on Wednesday held constructive talks with the Russian Permanent Representative to the UN Office and other International Organizations in Geneva Alexei Borodavkin within the framework of constant consultation and coordination between the two sides.
The delegation, led by Syria’s Permanent Representative to the UN Bashar al- Jaafari, arrived Wednesday morning in Geneva to take part in the fifth round of Intra-Syrian talks due to start Thursday.

Focus was made on the need to pressure the countries operating terrorists to show some seriousness in the call for reaching a solution to the crisis in Syria and to work hard as to separate the armed groups which have announced their willingness to be engaged in the political process from Deash, Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organizations and other affiliated groups, thereby contributing to unifying anti-terrorism efforts.
The two sides, who agreed on coordination and cooperation, also asserted the importance of concentrating on fighting all form s of terrorism as a priority in order to restore security and stability to Syria.
The Chinese envoy affirmed his country’s firm support for the Syrian people in all domains, particularly the humanitarian field.
