Syrian Government Facilitates Delivering Humanitarian Aid to Thousands of Displaced Syrians in Rukban Camp

 DAMASCUS, (ST)- The Syrian government has facilitated the delivery of humanitarian aid conveyed by the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) and the United Nations to thousands of displaced Syrians staying in the al-Rukban camp near the Syrian-Jordanian borders in Syria’s al-Tanf area where American occupying forces are deployed and they have hindered the delivery of humanitarian aid and prevented the displaced people from leaving the camp.

In a statement of which SANA got a copy, SARC announced that it has managed along with the United Nations to lead a humanitarian aid convoy to al-Rukban camp where more than 50.000 Syrians are staying under difficult humanitarian circumstances.

 The convoy should have reached the camp last week, according to SARC statement.

The Russian Defense Ministry spokesman said in a statement on Thursday that occupying US troops are deployed near the Camp, blocking aid convoys and recruiting young men into armed groups.

According to SARC, it took one month to prepare the convoy which consists of 78 trucks loaded with relief items containing 10, 475 food baskets, bags of flour, 18, 000 children clothes’ baskets, 10, 075 personal cleanliness kits, 1,200 baskets for the newborn, in addition to medicine, medical equipment and food supplements for children and women.

Khaled Habboubati, SARC chief, said in a statement that the convoy is the first to enter al-Rukban Camp which was run after obtaining the approval and guarantees of all parties concerned with the Syrian government’s facilitations, considering it a positive step towards delivering more food and aid of different kinds.
