Syrian Government Doing its Best to Help Deliver Humanitarian Aid to Those Who Need

DAMASCUS, (ST)- The government of the Syrian Arab Republic stresses that it is doing its duty towards its citizens all over Syria to help them surpass the current difficult circumstances. It asserts that it is doing its best to help deliver humanitarian aid to all who need wherever they are in the country, a source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said in a statement on Saturday.

The statement comes in response to inaccurate remarks by some international parties on the issue of delivering humanitarian assistance to the city of Aleppo.

 According to the source, the Syrian government affirms that it has spared no effort to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to eastern Aleppo areas, but it has received no guarantees regarding the convoys security, particularly as gunmen are still shooting fire on the main road the aid convoys are to take and are also shooting fire on the branch routes leading to the main road.   

The government reiterates that it has done everything possible to help open safe passage to these convoys, but the armed groups haven’t withdrawn from these roads and they continue committing provocative acts, the source said.

It concluded by saying that the Syrian government asserts its keenness on exerting every possible constructive effort to deliver the humanitarian assistance to those who need and it expresses its readiness for dialogue and cooperation with concerned international parties as to implement what has been agreed on with the United Nations , particularly the procedures relating to the humanitarian situation the country.
