Syrian football team placed in pot 1 in qualifiers draw for FIFA World Cup 2022 and AFC Asian Cup 2023

Kuala Lumpur – The qualifiers draw for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and AFC Asian Cup China 2023 which was held at the headquarters of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) in the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur placed the Syrian football team in the pot 1 along with the teams of China, the Philippines, Maldives and Guam.

The teams will compete within their groups in a two-stage tournament in the qualifiers which will start next September and the team which will rank first in each group along with the top four teams which will rank second will qualify to the finals of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and AFC Asian Cup China 2023, SANA reported.
