Syrian football team beats Jordanian counterpart 1-0

Baghdad – Syria’s national football team “Qassiuon Eagles” on Saturday beat its Jordanian counterpart 1-0 in its last match within the 2nd International Friendship Championship held at Bosra International Stadium, SANA reported.

The single goal in the match was scored by footballer Firas al-Khatib at the 86 minute of the match.

In a press conference following the match, Coach Fajir Ibrahim underlined the importance if that winning in raising the morale of the players.

He indicated that the first goal of Syria’s participation in the Championship is to prepare the national team for the Asian qualifiers and the World Cup qualifiers.
