Within the activities of the Syrian Fine Art Days “Al-Hekmieh” Art Gallery in Lattakia province is currently hosting a collective exhibition under the title ” Syria…the Memory of Beauty”.
Taking part in the exhibition are 31 artists from Lattakia , who belong to different art schools and generations , have distinguished artistic experiences and form an important part of the fine art in Lattakia and Syria in general.
The event, which will last till the 16th of January, is showcasing 54 artworks varying between oil painting, acrylic, graphic and sculptural works of various materials and providing an opportunity for fine art lovers to see an important number of diverse works in terms of subjects, art schools and techniques used by pioneer plastic artists and aspiring ones.
The founder of Hekmieh Art Gallery artist Majdi Al-Hekmieh, who is also a participant in the exhibition in two Sufi-dominated paintings , told SANA correspondent that holding artistic and cultural forums plays a vital role in reactivating the deep-cultural role of Syria .
“Faces after the war” are titles of two paintings by the participant artist Muhammad Asaad Samoqan, who viewed that the exhibition forms a memory specific to Syria of beauty and creativity and a platform for cultural dialogue as it includes the works of artists belonging to different artistic generations in addition to artists who have their own technical experiences.
The artist Samoqan considered that collective exhibitions are characterized by their ability to combine different artistic experiences and techniques to be displayed .
The artist Bassam Nasser, who participates in the exhibition with two works, depicting the abstraction and the impressionistic art underlined the importance of holding fine art collective exhibitions in all the Syrian provinces to form a great response against all the hostile attempts aiming at obliterating the Syrian cultural identity and history and to stress the fact that the culture in Syria reflects love and art on this earth.
