Syrian Film Week in Baghdad Early June

The Director General of the Iraqi Cinema and Theater Department, Ahmed Hassan Musa, has announced the establishment of a week for Syrian movies in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, in early June.

Moussa said in a statement that “Baghdad will host between the third and seventh of June, the Syrian Film Week, at the start of the activities of the international cinematic weeks, which will be hosted by the Iraqi Cinema and Theater Department.”

 

Moussa explained that the week will be launched under the slogan “from Baghdad here is Damascus” in partnership with the Syrian side and will includes an opening ceremony at the Iraqi National Theater in addition to the screening of thirteen feature films, long and short, including “Damascus-Aleppo” by Basil Al-Khatib and “The Last Iftar” by Abdul Latif Abdul Al-Hamid and “Back to Walls” by Aws Muhammad and “Dark Clouds” by Ayman Zaidan,” noting that the artists Duraid Lahham, Ayman Zaidan, Salma al-Masry, Suzan Najm al-Din, Basil al-Khatib and Hala al-Bitar will be the guests of honor in this cultural event.
