Syrian Film “Amina” Gets Certificate of Peace at 37th Fajr International Film Festival in Iran
TEHRAN- Long Syrian film “Amina “ has got the certificate of Peace of the 37th Fajr International Film Festival (FIFF) in Iran within the Oriental Films contest.
The 37th edition of Fajr International Film Festival (FIFF) was concluded at Vahdat Hall in the Iranian capital of Tehran on Thursday.
“There are no words to describe my happiness over the award the Syrian film “Amina” has got, being the only Arab film which has been accepted to participate in the FIFF and which competed a large number of high-level films,” Ayman Zeidan, the film director said in a statement to SANA correspondent.
“We have proved that despite difficult circumstances we have experienced we are able to make art which calls for peace,” Zeidan underscored.
It is worth mentioning that “Amina “ is a rural woman who faces a lot of challenges and difficulties caused by death of her husband and the bad health condition of her son , who has suffered a serious injury during the war that made him unable to move and speak.
The painful story of Amina and her husband is an example of the steadfastness of the Syrian mothers who have suffered a lot during the Syrian crisis.
The film was produced last year by the General Establishment for cinema . It stars Nadiene Khoury (heroine) , Joud Sa’id, Lina Hourarna and a number of Syrian artists.
Fajr Festival celebrates the cultural exchange, and it is considered one of the most prestigious cinematic events in western Asia, by bringing together veteran directors and new filmmakers.
