Syrian female athletes honored for their distinguished results in the Arab Women Sports Tournament in Sharjah

Damascus,(ST)- The Executive Office of the General Sports Federation on Wednesday  honored the delegation of Syrian clubs that participated in the 7th Arab Women Sports Tournament held recently in Sharjah.

During the tournament, the Syrian teams managed to win three gold, three silver and ten bronzes medals.

The honored teams are Al-Thawra Basketball Club team, Hind Zaza and Ibaa Hallaq in table tennis, Liana Mustafa in athletics, Mays Qara Falah, Natalie Azzam, Hadeel Abu Raslan, Lotus Qatini, Rahaf Ibrahim and Kholoud Ali in karate, and Aphrodite Ahmad, Mary Ali and Haneen Al-Hamoud in fencing.

The missionmembers,  including the administrative, training and media personnel, as well as the entities supporting the mission, were also honored.

The Head of the General Sports Federation, Firas Mualla stressed the importance of the  achievements made by the Syrian female players in the tournament which have been the result of the efforts and hard work done before the tournament.

He said that “our female players were the focus of attention of the other participating delegations, given their level and the high skills and remarkable results they achieved.”
