Syrian exports to Eurasian Economic Union countries to Get 25% customs cuts

DAMASCUS, (ST)- Syria has been enlisted among the countries which enjoy the custom privileges of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), so that the Syrian exports to any of the union’s five member states will get customs cuts at 25%, according to the Ministry of Economy and Foreign Trade.

The kind of exports should be among the products specified in the union’s adopted list.

The Eurasian Economic Union comprises Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

 In a statement on Wednesday, the ministry said that the new procedure came within the framework of continuous work to facilitate the access of the Syrian exports to foreign markets, to get the utmost benefits, to maintain the privileges Syria has got through the access of the Syrian products to the Russian markets.

The ministry affirmed the important role that can be played by the private sector to get the Syrian producers acquainted with the advantages they can get upon exporting their products to the EAEU countries.
