The Syrian community in Romania has thanked Russia for its support to Syria in counter terrorism a day after a celebration was held in Slovakia to congratulate the Syrian people and army on the recapture of the ancient Palmyra city from ISIS terrorists.
The community held Friday a rally in front of the Russian Embassy in Bucharest in order to thank Russia and to express support for the homeland in fighting terrorism.
Syrian and Russian flags plus pictures of President Bashar al-Assad and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin were carried by the participants in the rally, according to the Tishreen newspaper.
The paper reported that the speakers in the rally talked about the brave and wise decision of the Russian leadership to support Syria and to defend the international law and the UN charter related to fighting international terrorism.
An appreciation letter was given to the Russian embassy in the name of the Syrian community and embassy and the national institutes in Romania, which are composed of Syrian Expatriates Union, the Syrian Students National Union, the Syrian Businessmen Association, Syrian-Romania Friendship Association, Syrian Physicians Association and Tishreen School.
The rally came a day after the Syrian community in Slovakia and Slovakian politicians celebrated the recapture of the Palmyra city by the Syrian Arab army from ISIS.
The participants in the celebration wished that the Syrian Arab army will drive all terrorists out of the Syrian territories.
Last Sunday, Syrian army and allied forces fully recaptured Palmyra city from ISIS [ also known as ISIL or the Islamic State].
