DAMASCUS- A delegation representing the European Front for Solidarity with Syria and the Syrian community in Italy is currently visiting Syria to voice their support for the Syrian state and people in the confrontation of the ongoing terrorist war.
The delegation held several meetings with Syrian officials and religious personalities.
Syria’s Grand Mufti Badreddin Hassoun, who met the delegation yesterday, affirmed the important role the Syrian expatriates can play to support and defend their homeland and to uncover the real goals of the heinous conspiracy which has been targeting Syria.
Hassoun stressed that “if the United States and its allies, who claim that they are fighting terrorism, cooperated with the Syrian people, we would be able to eliminate terrorism in the region and the entire world within few months.”
The Grand Mufti called for stopping the support being provided by western and some Arab states to the takfiri terrorists in Syria and other countries aiming to dominate the resources of these countries.
On his part, head of the Syrian community in Italy Jamal Abo Abbas said the delegation’s visit came to stress the community’s support for the causes of their homeland.
Members of the European Front for Solidarity with Syria also affirmed support for Syria and the Syrian people in their war against terrorism, stressing their readiness to convey a real image about what is going on in Syria to the whole world and their keenness to uncover the misleading media campaigns launched against Syria in the West.
Earlier in the day, Deputy Speaker of People’s Assembly Fahmi Hasan also met members of the guest delegation and highlighted the important role they can play in confronting the war which has been targeting Syria’s social fiber, economy and infrastructure.
The deputy speaker asserted that “the Syrians will rebuild their country themselves and with the help of honest friends from other countries which supported Syria as to restore Syria’s being an example of fraternity and peace in the world.”
