Syrian expatriates launch initiative to aid displaced families in Damascus suburb

A campaign led by several Syrian expatriates has launched an initiative to distribute humanitarian aid among displaced poor families living in Damascus suburb of Jaramana.

The campaign’s leader Nisreen Zriq said that the initiative aims to encourage the Syrian youth to participate in helping others, hoping that each Syria family will help another family.

“Our team works  in provinces of Aleppo, Lattakia, Damascus, Hama and Homs and it offers aid to displaced poor families and wounded soldiers,” she added.

On her part, the Lebanese reporter Reem Haidar, who is taking part in the campaign, said that her participation is to pay back the Syrian people’s support for the Lebanese people during July war.

Another participant in the campaign, RahafIshaq, said that over 500 displaced families in Jaramana suburb will receive clothes and milk for children within the campaign’s program.

The campaign includes several Syrian expatriates living in Canada, the U.S., Egypt, Algeria, Iran, Russia, Europe and the Arab Gulf.

Over the past five years, scores of initiatives have been launched to help displaced people nationwide.
