Massachusetts, (ST) – Syrian expatriate Doctor Ismael al-Khateeb got the golden scissors and became the first Doctor with Harvard fellowship designation from American Harvard University in heart and lung surgery.
I am proud as a Syrian citizen, and I give this title to all Syrian people, al-Khateeb said.
He studied medicine in Damascus University and trained with his teacher Kamal Amer.
He made some preparatory studies in Oxford University, some basic surgical studies in Cambridge, and then moved to Harvard University.
Syria is the greatest cultural and human heritage and the world’s most beautiful blend mosaic, and I hope to come back home and serve my country, he added.
