Syrian-Emirati talks to strengthen financial, banking, and trade cooperation

His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the United Arab Emirates, deputy prime minister, and chairman of the presidential Court, discussed with Minister of Finance Mohammed Yasser Barnea and Governor of the Central Bank of Syria Abdulkader Al-hosariya ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between the UAE and Syria in various fields, especially finance, banking, and trade.‏

The two sides discussed, at a joint meeting in the UAE capital Abu Dhabi today, the mechanisms that contribute to achieving the common Syrian-Emirati interests, for the benefit of the two countries and peoples.‏
In a statement to SANA, Minister Barnea stressed the importance of the meeting in strengthening relations between the two brotherly countries, praising the UAE’s keenness to support stability and economic and administrative reform in Syria.‏
Minister Barnea pointed out that the meeting addressed several topics related to investment opportunities in the financial and banking sector, the energy and infrastructure sectors, and assistance in reforming the tax system and the judicial system. It was also agreed to hold a Syrian-Emirati investment forum.
