Syrian, Emirati Business Council to Return Syrian Currency to the Home

 

Damascus, (ST) – Head of the Syrian – Emirati Business Council in the city of Al Ain Dr. Ammar Gala launched an initiative to gather the Syrian currency of the country of expatriation and return it to the homeland.

In a press statement upon his arrival in Syria, Mr. Qala confirmed that Syria today is in need of all expatriates to contribute to the restoration of the infrastructure and start the reconstruction phase, pointing out “that the Syrian currency that was smuggled and stolen must be turned to the home to supply the state treasury.”

 He explained that he managed to collect more than ten million Syrian pounds in a preliminary step, adding that this initiative will be followed by other initiatives to be a bridge of communication with Syria.

Mr. Qala pointed out that ” Syrian businessmen, investors and expatriates are supporting their country in foreign currency,” noting that the Syrian expatriates, in the last period through the means of social communication, made campaigns to support the Syrian pound through the work of remittances to the homeland or deposits in foreign currency in their accounts with licensed banks in Syria.

The initiative among many initiatives launched by Syrian expatriates comes to support the Syrian pound and the national economy.

He pointed out that the Syrian diplomatic mission plays an important role to facilitate procedures of the Syrian community in the UAE and legal affairs.
