Syrian Embassy in Santiago and the Higher Institute of Languages at Damascus University hold virtual conference to discuss cooperation
The Embassy of the Syrian Arab Republic in the Chilean capital, “Santiago,” in cooperation with the University of Damascus, “Higher Institute of Languages,” held a virtual conference with the participation of the Diplomatic Academy in the Ministry of Foreign Relations in Chile. The conference attended by a group of ambassadors accredited to Chile, especially Spanish-speaking countries, in addition to representatives of the most important universities and educational academies in Chile, and Syrian institutions in expatriation.
The Dean of the Language Institute, Dr. Ali Al-Laham, gave a presentation about the programs offered by the Institute and the opportunities available to official and popular bodies wishing to cooperate with the University of Damascus to learn the Arabic language.
For his part, Acting Chargé d’ Affaires Ghassan Anjerini spoke about the long history of Damascus University and the horizon for signing educational agreements with interested parties in Chile, in the cultural, heritage and academic aspects in which Syria represents an important part of the history of civilization.
In this regard, the Catholic University of Chile presented a set of inquiries and proposals related to developing cooperation with the University of Damascus, while the director of the Arab School in Santiago presented the importance of Syria as a cultural destination.
