Syrian Embassy in Belarus takes part in activities marking World Arabic Language Day at Minsk University
The Syrian Embassy in Belarus took part in the cultural and artistic activities held by Minsk State Linguistic University marking the World Arabic Language Day.
The activities included a photo exhibition for the historical, archeological and tourist sites in Syria, literature, art and calligraphy contests and an exhibition for the Syrian traditional food, handicrafts and industries.
The Syrian Ambassador to Belarus Mohammad Al-Omrani talked about the importance of the Arabic language and the elements that make Arabic one of the richest language that have major effect on the cultures of the peoples of the world.
He hailed the efforts that have been exerted by Syria to improve the situation of the Arabic language, particularly the establishment of the prestigious Arabic Language Academy of Damascus in 1919 and the arabization of the university curricula.
Al-Omrani highly appreciated the role that has been played by Minsk State Linguistic University in maintaining the contacts between the Arab and Belarusian cultures, which consequently enhanced the distinguished relations between the Arab countries and Belarus in general and the Syrian-Belarusian ties in particular.
He affirmed the embassy’s readiness to strengthen cooperation with the Minsk University to boost cultural exchange between the two countries.
