Syrian Economic Forum Stress Importance of Transition to a Competitive Free Market Economy

Participants in the Syrian Economic Forum, organized by the Damascus Chamber of Commerce, under the title “Insights into Competitive Free Market Economy: A Roadmap for Renewal and Economic Prosperity in Syria,” discussed the necessity of benefiting from successful global experiences that support competitiveness and innovation within a free market that suits the reality of the Syrian economy.

The participants emphasized the importance of adopting a set of monetary and economic policies to achieve growth and prosperity.

In his speech, Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection in the Caretaker Government Maher Hassan said that the ministry recognizes the importance of providing a suitable commercial environment that supports fair competition among all and ensures that consumers receive the best products at fair prices.

Minister Hassan pointed out that by achieving integration between natural and human resources and issuing laws and regulations, we can develop the current situation to reach prosperity through a competitive free market economy.

“Let us all be partners in building a prosperous and sustainable Syrian economy for the benefit of our future generations,” he added.

President of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and President of Damascus Chamber of Commerce Basel Hamwi emphasized the importance of working within a competitive free market economy at this stage.

Economic experts also highlighted the significance of free market economy, as free markets open competition to everyone and contribute to elevating economic and social levels.
