Syrian Cultural Day Marked in Polish University

WARSAW, (ST)_ In cooperation with branch of the National Union of Syrian Students NUSS, and al-Marmar University Higher faculty for tourism,  the Syrian embassy in Warsaw, Poland, organized a Syrian cultural day,  marking the 69th Evacuation Day anniversary.

The cultural day included a 40- picture photograph exhibition,  depicting the most important tourist and archaeological sites in Syria,  revealing the damage inflected on some of them by terrorist organizations attacks, and a 25-minute documentary film in English,  highlighting the main tourist areas in Syria and the size of the destruction on them as a result of terrorism.  It also included a lecture by the charge de Affaires at the Syrian embassy Dr. Idris Mia on the current situation in Syria.

In an inaugural speech, Dean of Almamar University Genius Mirsky underlined the importance of this event in terms of acquainting the university teaching staff and students with the rich Syrian civilization, which dates back thousands of years, providing all mankind with great values, principles, and knowledge in all walks of life.

Mirsky commented that,  ” this activity coincides with the Syrian Independence anniversary, on the occasion of which we wish the Syrian people all the best, security and stability”,  regretting what he saw of the devastation and destruction caused to priceless archaeological sites,  by f terrorists who do not know the value of these sites and what they are symbolizing.

For his part, Mia confirmed that Syria is celebrating the Evacuation day anniversary while the Syrian people are more determined than ever to defend the Syrian national independent decision, Syria’s sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity and clinging to values and principles of the men of Independence who challenged the brutal French occupation.

Mia added that Syria has been exposed for more than four years to a global war waged by takfiri obscurantist forces ideology, which does not believe in the other, supported by states and parties that do not work for the good of the Syrian people, but endeavored to destroy the Syrian civilization.

The university dean, professors and students and participants in the cultural day toured the exhibition and listened to detailed explanation of its content, especially in terms of the destruction caused by the terrorist gangs.

They expressed admiration for the evidences on the Syrian civilization and strongly condemned the terrorist organizations crimes in Syria, stressing that such actions require to provide all support to the Syrian government against those terrorists.
