Syrian-Cuban talks on enhancing cooperation in different fields

Havana (ST): Finance Minister Dr. Kenan Yaghi discussed with Cuban Minister of Higher Education Walter Paloja Garcia the prospects for enhancing cooperation between Syria and Cuba in various fields, especially higher education.

During the meeting on the sidelines of the Group of 77 and China summit in Havana, Dr. Yaghi expressed the Syrian government’s desire to strengthen and advance bilateral relations in all fields, especially science, universities, scientific research institutes, and mutual scholarships for the university level.

For his part, Garcia welcomed the Syrian delegation participating in the summit, wishing it a good stay and hoping that Syria will enjoy prosperity and recovery from the difficult period it went through during previous years, noting that this meeting constitutes a very important opportunity to discuss the development of bilateral relations.

The two sides agreed to follow up on what was discussed and on concluding new agreements that embody the desire of both parties to strengthen bilateral relations.
