DAMASCUS, (ST)-Syria’s permanent Representative at the United Nations Bashar Al-Jaafari has stressed that the Syrian constitution will be drafted only by the Syrians, noting that there is no paper by the UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura on the constitution as it was replaced by the experts meeting.
During a workshop held on Thursday at the Syrian Radio and TV Headquarters, al-Jaafari said that Syria, as a sovereign state, is fighting terrorism in accordance with international law and it has worked in partnership with a another state in this issue.
He added that Syria’s relation with the Russian ally is old and strong based on respecting and preserving the Syrian sovereignty, whereas, the presence of foreign forces on the Syrian lands without the permission of the Syrian government is a blatant violation of the Syria’s sovereignty.
Al-Jaafari pointed out that the United Nations has lost its credibility more than any time before and the Arabs and Moslems can no longer be a pressure force at the UN.
According to al-Jaafari, the issue of the displaced Syrians in neighboring countries was exploited for political blackmail, therefore, the Syrian government has called on the displaced people to return to the areas liberated by the Syrian army from terrorism.
