Syrian community in Chile sends letter to EU

SANTIAGO,(ST)_ The Syrian community in Chile has called for removing the coercive economic measures being imposed by European countries on the people of Syria.

It said in a letter sent to the delegation of the  European Union in Santiago: “The Syrian people have been exposed to the terrorist war for more than 10 years and this war has left huge damage in all sectors. Despite that, several European countries have imposed economic sanctions on Syria violating the international law.”

The community called for lifting these sanctions as they cause the suffering of millions in Syria in all fields, especially in the health sector amid the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic.
