Damascus (ST): Syrian cinema won two prizes at the Lebanese Film and Television Festival in the eleventh session of the festival, which started on the fourteenth of this month until the seventeenth of it.
The two feature films “Dark Clouds” directed by Ayman Zidan and “The Back to the Wall” directed by Aws Mohamed and produced by the General Film Organization won the two creativity awards.
The events of the movie “Dark Clouds”, written by Zidan in partnership with Yasmine Abu Fakhr, begin with the decision of the film’s hero, Dr. Ahmed, played by the actor Wael Ramadan, to return to his city which is devastated by the war after a long absence in France to end his last days there after discovering that he had cancer. With his return, the tales of this painful city exploded as the war cast its shadows over it and weighed heavily on the fates of those who lived through the harsh years there.
The film stars Lina Hawarneh, Ramez Atallah, Lama Bodour, Hazem Zidan and Nour Ali, in partnership with Mohamed Hadaki, guest of the film Joud Saeed and the child David Mohad Al-Rai, d Alaa Qassem, Mazen Abbas, Mohamed Zarzour and Ghaleb Zeidan.
The film had previously won the “Al-Quds Prize for Artistic Achievement” in the 36th session of the Alexandria Film Festival for Mediterranean Countries in its 36th session in 2020.
The events of the movie “Back to the Wall” revolve around the story of Qusai, the university doctor at the Faculty of Information, whose role is embodied by the artist Abdel Munim Amayri, whose life changes after learning that his close friend got into a big problem and suffers from a lot of psychological pressure, so he tries to help him and find out the truth about what really happened.
