Syrian Chief of Staff Discuss with his Iranian Counterpart Enhancing Military Cooperation

 TEHRAN, (ST)- Chief of Staff of the Syrian Army and Armed Forces Gen. Ali Abdullah Ayoub and his Iranian counterpart Major General Mohammad Baqeri met on Monday in Tehran and discussed enhancing military cooperation between the armies of the two countries in the confrontation of takfiri terrorism and improving coordination on the latest political and military situation in Syria.

 The two sides condemned the recent Zionist and American acts of aggression against Syria, reiterating the importance of consolidating the joint strategy between  Syria, Russia, Iran and allies in the face of terrorism.   

Gen. Ayoub stressed the determination of the Syria army and its allies to continue the war on terrorism until security and stability is restored to the entire Syrian territory.

 He thanked Iran’s leadership, government and people for constant support to Syria in the face of the terrorist organizations, reiterating that Tehran’s wise policies on supporting peace and stability in the region and the Muslim world and on respecting the sovereignty and unity of regional states, enjoy the appreciation of all independent countries across the world.

On his part, Baqeri condemned the US and Israeli regime’s recent airstrikes against Syria, saying that by maintaining their unity and national solidarity as well as holding Syrian-Syrian talks, the Syrian people have managed to confront foreign conspiracies.

He hailed the Syrian Army and people’s brave resistance in the face of Takfiri terrorists’ crimes as well as regional aggression and intervention.

 Baqeri also praised the recent major achievements by the Syrian Army and people in the battle against terrorism, highly appreciating the Syrian army’s liberation of the city of Aleppo from the control of terrorists.
