Syrian cartoonist wins prize for best cartoon in 9th Sejong international contest in Korea

Syrian cartoonist Raed Khalil  has won a prize for best cartoon at the 9th Sejong International Cartoon Contest SICACO 2020, Korea.

479 cartoonists from 45 countries took part in the competition.

Al-Khalil’s winning cartoon work depicted the theme of the contest, which is “Freedom and Equality”. He featured how some parties seek to exploit these important humanitarian issues in order to gain benefits regardless of people’s feelings and suffering.

Cartoonist Raed Khalil, who won the State Encouragement Prize last year, won dozens of awards in international cartoon competitions. He  also has been the Director of Syria’s International Caricature Festival since its beginning.
