Syrian Businessmen Abroad Urged to Contribute to Rebuilding Syria

DAMASCUS- Much of the Syrian government’s efforts are dedicated to the industrial and investment sectors, said Prime Minister Wael al-Halqi, stressing that the government is keen to implement an all-out reform project that provides equal opportunities and attain justice.

Al-Halqi, who was speaking on Monday to Syrian businessmen working in Egypt, also said that the government plans to carry out small and medium-sized enterprises and to develop legislations and laws to meet the aspirations of traders, industrialists and investors.

The premier added that “the current era necessitates from honest Syrian businessmen to contribute to rebuilding Syria and be hand in hand with the government to draw up the strategic, economic and development policies aiming to surpass the ongoing crisis and launch a new era of development, building and stability in the country.”

Al-Halqi pointed out that the government provides all facilitations to businessmen abroad to settle their projects in Syria and contribute to supporting national economy, which has started to witness recovery despite the great damage caused to it because of the systematic economic war and the unfair economic siege on Syria.

“The Syrians abroad are an important national wealth as they can contribute to enhancing the homeland’s scientific, economic and social potentials,” stressed al-Halqi.

For their part, members of the businessmen delegation spoke openly about their concerns regarding the investment situation in Syria and the needed incentives. They affirmed that they will be true partners in building and defending new Syria.
