On May 21st, Chargé d’Affaires of the Syrian Embassy in Bulgaria, Mohammad Mohammad, met with representatives of the Bulgarian-Syrian Parliamentary Friendship Group at the Bulgarian Parliament.
The two sides discussed ways to develop and strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries in various fields.
The head of the Friendship Group, Victoria Vasileva, stressed the depth of the historical relations between the two friendly countries and the determination of the new Bulgarian parliament to play an active role in boosting bilateral relations, especially in the fields of economy, trade and investment.
Vasileva said that any solution to the crisis in Syria must guarantee its sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, expressing her wishes for the return of peace and security to it.
In turn, Mohammad referred to the negative effects of unilateral coercive economic measures imposed on the Syrian people, calling for action to lift them.
Mohammad briefed the Bulgarian side on the details of the legislative amnesty decree No. 7, which comes within the framework of the efforts made by the Syrian state to achieve reconciliation and the return of the displaced to their homeland.
