Minsk, (ST) – Deputy Minister of Industry Dr. Nidal Fallouh and Deputy Industry Minister of Belarus Dmitry Korchek signed the first protocol meeting of the Syrian-Belarusian Working Group to follow up on the prospects of cooperation in the industrial field and the consolidation of economic and trade relations between the two countries at the conclusion of a visit paid by a Syrian economic delegation to the Republic of Belarus.
Following the signing of the Protocol, Mr. Korchek pointed to the good bilateral relations between the two countries and the importance of rebuilding and strengthening cooperation to the interest of the two peoples, noting the need for continued action to follow up the implementation of the protocol signed between the two countries in Minsk in 2015.
The Belarusian official said that there are ideas for joint projects such as tractors and others included in the Protocol and that the Belarusian side is fully prepared to cooperate in various fields.
For his part, Dr. Fallouh head of the Syrian delegation pointed out to the importance of the visit and the talks held between the delegation and several Belarusian officials, expressing his desire to sign the protocol for the technical- Industrial Committee and the need to begin the operational procedures to translate the protocol into reality.
On the other hand, member of the Board of the Damascus Chamber of Industry, Mohammad Aramal Hallaq, assured the interest of the Federation of Chambers of Industry to open new horizons for cooperation with Belarus especially “that the economic situation in Syria is stable in general.”
The delegation and the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Belarus Vladimir Okothovic also discussed trade cooperation and the need to open the Belarusian markets for Syrian products.
Mr. al –Hallaq addressed an invitation to Belarusian businessmen to visit Syria and see closely the opportunities and areas of investment in Syria and discussed the prospects of joint cooperation.
