Syrian-Belarusian talks for cooperation in housing sector and engineering vehicles

The Minister of Public Works and Housing, Eng. Suhail Abdul Latif, discussed during his meeting today with the Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus in Damascus Yuri Sluka the agreements and memoranda of understanding that resulted from the meetings of the Syrian-Belarus Joint Committee held in Minsk at the beginning of this year.

The Belarusian ambassador gave a presentation on the technical specifications of engineering vehicles and issues related to the project of importing them. It was agreed to form a technical committee from the ministry and the embassy to study the offer.

Minister Abdel Latif stressed the importance of developing and activating economic and trade relations between the two sides to reach the level of the existing political relations between them. He underlined the need to develop a program and an action plan after defining the topics that will be discussed by the Belarusian side during the upcoming meetings of the joint committee.

The ambassador highlighted the urgency of following up on the points and topics related to cooperation documents, activating them, and setting a timetable for implementing all that was agreed upon within the previous protocols.

The meeting was attended by Assistant Minister, Engineer Marie Claire Al-Tali, Director of Planning and International Cooperation, Dr. Ali Al-Shibli, and members of the Belarusian Embassy in Damascus.
